2010 International Surf Festival: Friday, July 30, 2010 - Sunday, August 01, 2010 - 8:00 a.m.

Arguably the biggest weekend of the year in the South Bay, the International Surf Festival returns to Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo Beach! An athletic competition involving several events spans 3 days and is non-stop entertainment.

This year, the event kicks off with the LA County Lifeguard Championships at 7:00 p.m. at the Manhattan Beach Pier on Friday, July 31. There will be several contests, including the U.S. Coast Guard Helicopter & L.A. County Lifeguard Rescue Demo, 6-Lifeguard Run Relay, Lifeguard Events and the Bud Stevenson Intracrew Medley Relay.

On Saturday, the "6-Man" Volleyball Tournament begins, which is a crazy, ultra-competitive sporting party. Dozens of teams compete over 2 days to take down what is a very honorable title here in the South Bay. Of all the events in the Festival, this is far and away the most popular, with hundreds of players and up to 50,000 spectators.

There will be surfing, bodysurfing, sand soccer, paddleboard and swimming races among many other activities as well, and this is one weekend you don't want to miss!! Check out the official site for more info! Check out the official Schedule of Events by following the link.
